Clarence Costa Sr., 85, of Glenwood, died May 6 at his residence. Born March 22, 1927, in Wainaku, Hilo, he was a retired truck driver from Jas. W. Glover Co.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by son, Clarence (Sharon) Costa Jr., of Ainaloa; daughters, Clarine Ralon, Terrie Sadino, both of Hilo; sister, Irene Gomes, of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Violet Suzuki-Hue

Violet Hanako Suzuki-Hue, 87, of Hilo, died April 27 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kaueleau, Opihikau, she was a retired seamtress and lei making and quilting instructor and volunteer at Keaau Senior Center.

Betty A. Page, 60, of Kailua-Kona, died May 5, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital. Born Sept. 13, 1951, in Wahiawa, Oahu, she was a sales associate for Walmart in Kailua-Kona and a member of Kona Christian Church.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. May 18 at Calvary Community Church, 76-4295 Leilani St., Kailua-Kona, for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Michael “Mike” Ray Lim Tim Lee, 49, of Hilo,died, May 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 25, 1963, in Honolulu, he was a dishwasher at the Banyan Broiler and Don’s Grill.

Leland Akamu

Leland Lee Akamu, 63, of Kailua, Oahu, died April 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 4, 1948, in Ka‘u, he was a welder for BAE (British Aerospace) Systems Hawaii Shipyard; a member of Local 1998, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Worker-IAE; and caretaker of the Macomber family gravesite in Ka‘u.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. May 19 at the Naalehu Clubhouse in Naalehu Park for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Sabrina Mitchell

Sabrina Leimomi Mitchell, 41, of Kealakekua, died May 7 at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 30, 1970, in Kealakekua, she was the general manager for E.M. Rivera & Sons Inc. and a member of Pukaana Congregational Church, the former Kailua-Kona Volleyball, BYG Backyard Gang, Koolah Killahs, Fil Ams, KHK, Hawaiian Originals, Kona Gold, Kona Jammers, Kunia’s, Half & Half, Naupakas and Likabu’s volleyball and softball teams.

Friend may call at 10 a.m. May 19 at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Clubhouse located at Honokohau Boat Harbor for an 11 a.m. service. Private scattering of ashes will be held at a later date. For more information, call 938-8661.

Donald Gordon Doran Jr., 61, of Kapoho, died April 30 at his residence. Born June 3, 1950, in Frankfurt, Germany, he was an orchid farmer.

Stephen “Steve” Dane Brooks, 64, of Hilo, died April 25 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a security guard and an Air Force veteran.
